Key responsibilities include:

Owning the overall customer offer for your categories, in all our sites and in each state we operate in. You own the category - from curating the range of products by thinking deeply about our customer’s needs, through to ensuring our sites never run out.

  • Understand, for each category, what our customers need today, providing a range of products for busy lives, always thinking about what’s next and making the most of future opportunities.
  • Ownership of commercial terms with suppliers, including through negotiations.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with our valued supplier partners.
  • Developing and maintaining promotional programs and activations in conjunction with suppliers and our internal teams.
  • Delivery of key KPI’s, which will be reported on weekly along with insights and actions on how to optimise your categories performance.
  • Being the go-to person for internal stakeholders for all things related to your categories.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Passion and expertise for retail and category management
  • Ideally you will have experience in a large multi-site FMCG business with a focus on food products/offers
  • A strong commercial acumen with the ability to think analytically and present information clearly and succinctly. Be data driven in your decision making.
  • Must display excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and be able to follow processes that enable complex organisations to operate at speed.
  • An attitude to care about the quality and end results of your work for both our team members in store, and our customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication. You will have many touch points throughout the business and with external stakeholders and will be required to present frequently to senior management.
